I LOVE caesar salad. It is so dang good, however, the dressing is the not-so-healthy part of the salad. I’ve been wanting to put another salad dressing together for a while now, and finally, I got around to it.

This Healthy Caesar Salad Dressing finally came to life in my kitchen, after three different attempts, and modifying the recipe bit by bit. To be honest, I hit most recipes on the head with the first attempt. Three times for this quick and easy caesar salad dressing and it’s finally tasted bud approved.

PS. This Healthy Caesar Salad Dressing is so EASY to make. All you need is a blender, toss your ingredients in and let the blender do all the work!

HOW IS THIS A HEALTHY CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

This Healthy Caesar Salad Dressing is made using fresh ingredients. Fresh is key here. Many store-bought Caesar salad dressings a loaded with processed ingredients.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRADITIONAL CAESAR SALAD DRESSING AND HEALTHY CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

Traditional caesar salad dressing contains anchovies, oil, egg yolk, parmesan cheese, garlic, and parmesan cheese. While this Healthy Caesar Salad Dressing contains some similar ingredients, it is much healthier due to the fact the ingredients are fresh and healthier substitutes added.

DOES CAESAR SALAD DRESSING HAVE TO CONTAIN ANCHOVIES

No! Caesar salad dressing does not have to contain anchovies. You can completely omit them or substitute using Worcestershire, which will give it that missing flavour from the anchovies.

WHAT GOES IN HEALTHY CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

  • Garlic
  • White Vinegar
  • Worcestershire
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Light Olive Oil
  • Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Lemon
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt (I prefer sea salt)
  • Ground Black Pepper

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

  1. Set up your blender or food processor.
  2. Prepare garlic cloves by removing the peel and finely chopping
  3. Add garlic, vinegar, Worcestershire, and olive oil to the blender.
  4. Blend until garlic is a paste about 90 seconds.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice from a whole lemon into a small bowl or measuring cup.
  6. Add in your Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.
  7. Pulse Blend until blended and smooth, about 45-60 seconds.
  8. Add in your parmesan cheese, and blend for 45-60 seconds.
  9. Stir in salt and pepper.

HOW TO STORE HOMEMADE CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

You can store Healthy Caesar Salad Dressing in a large mason jar or airtight container for 7 days. Shake occasionally to avoid the oil from forming and stiffing too much. Shake and stir before each use.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Lemon, juice only, large
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper, freshly cracked ground
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil, light
  • 1 tbsp White vinegar
  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt, plain
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Set up your blender or food processor.
  2. Prepare garlic cloves by removing the peel and finely chopping
  3. Add garlic, vinegar, Worcestershire, and olive oil to the blender.
  4. Blend until garlic is a paste about 90 seconds.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice from a whole lemon into a small bowl or measuring cup.

Notes

* Shake the dressing once made and stored in a jar or container, every so often to avoid the oil stiffing together.
