Not only does this recipe satisfy my craving, but I’ve cut the calories by over half and I’m saving myself some money. I’ll take that.

HOW TO MAKE LOW-CALORIE ICED GREEN TEA

Simple ingredients and requires some time.

For this recipe, I used what I had leftover in my fridge. I had lemons, limes, and fresh mint. And well, I always have honey and green tea in my pantry.

You will also need boiled water, so a kettle, a teapot or a jug that is safe for boiled water to steep your tea bags.

This recipe requires a bit more time to prepare due to having to let the tea steep and of course giving it time to cool before serving. I like to make mine the evening before and let it brew overnight in the refrigerator.

GREEN TEA BENEFITS

A refreshing beverage with amazing healthy benefits.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and helps reduce belly fat. However, store-bought iced green teas tend to be loaded with sugars so make sure you read the ingredient/nutrition label.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS GREEN TEA RECIPE

Tasty, flavourful and refreshing.

This recipe is very refreshing on a hot summer day. It is a little sweet, with a blast of lemon and lime, it’s the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I am a coffee drinker. I love my coffee, but there is something about a nice refreshing low-calorie iced green tea on a hot summer afternoon. Because YES, green tea contains caffeine.

HOW LONG IS ICED GREEN TEA GOOD FOR

You can store this beverage in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.

CAN I ADD SUGAR

Yes, you can add sugar. I recommend either brown or organic pure cane sugar. The ratio for substituting the honey with sugar is 1:1. It’s that simple.

CAN I LEAVE OUT THE MINT

You can leave out the mint if you choose and just use the lemons and limes. Sometimes fresh mint can be hard to find this time of year. But, you can find fresh mint in the produce section at your local grocery store.
